PE Gas Pipeline

PE gas pipes are manufactured from blended polyethylene materials. They completely eliminate corrosion and joint leakage issues existing in steel and cast iron pipes, ensuring safe operation of gas pipeline networks.
Made of inert polyethylene material, these pipes resist erosion from various chemical media. They feature low pipe wall friction coefficient, small flow resistance and high delivery capacity. Adopting electrofusion connection, the joint strength exceeds that of the pipe body. With elongation at break generally over 500%, the high-toughness pipes deliver excellent seismic resistance, strong resistance to slow crack growth (SCG) and rapid crack propagation (RCP), as well as superior flexibility and scratch resistance.
They adapt well to uneven foundation settlement and offer outstanding wear resistance, fully complying with national standard GB/T15558.1-2015. Various trenchless construction methods are applicable, simplifying installation work. Featuring low system cost and minimal maintenance expense, they greatly cut down overall project costs.

Application Scope

Buried polyethylene gas pipes are applicable to buried urban gas pipeline systems with operating temperatures ranging from -20℃ to 40℃ and maximum allowable working pressure no more than 0.7MPa.

Suitable gas types:

  1. Natural gas: pure natural gas, associated petroleum gas, mine gas, etc.
  2. Manufactured gas: coke oven gas, water gas, oil gas, blast furnace gas, etc.
  3. Liquefied petroleum gas
  4. Biogas

Product Performance

  • Reliable Connection

Electrofusion jointing ensures joint strength higher than the pipe itself.

  • Excellent Stress Crack Resistance

Low notch sensitivity, high shear strength, great scratch resistance and outstanding environmental stress cracking resistance.

  • Anti-aging & Long Service Life

Polyethylene pipes evenly mixed with 2%-2.5% carbon black can be used outdoors for 50 years without damage caused by ultraviolet radiation.

  • Superior Low-temperature Impact Resistance

Extremely low brittle transition temperature enables safe use between -60℃ and 60℃, avoiding pipe brittle fracture in winter construction.

  • Easy Handling

Lighter than concrete, galvanized and steel pipes, easy to transport and install, effectively reducing labor and installation costs.

  • High Wear Resistance

Tests prove HDPE pipes are 4 times more wear-resistant than steel pipes, bringing longer service life and better economic benefits.
